These are the videos of a course taught in 2015 at the University of Oxford by Nando de Freitas with help from Brendan Shillingford.
Nando de Freitas is a machine learning professor at Oxford University and a senior staff research scientist at Google DeepMind. He received his PhD from Trinity College, Cambridge University in 2000 on Bayesian methods for neural networks. From 1999 to 2001, he was a postdoctoral fellow at UC Berkeley in the artificial intelligence group of Stuart Russell. He was a professor at theUniversity of British Columbia from 2001 to 2014. He is a fellow of the Canadian Institute For Advanced Research (CIFAR) in the successful Neural Computation and Adaptive Perception program. Nando has spun off a few companies, e.g. Zite and Dark Blue Labs. Among his recent awards are a Google Faculty Research Award, a Distinguished Paper Award at the International Joint Conference on Artificial intelligence (IJCAI 2013), the 2012 Charles A. McDowell Award for Excellence in Research, and the 2010 Mathematics of Information Technology and Complex Systems (MITACS) Young Researcher Award. (Nando de Freitas).
